We had to figure out a way to get COVID-tested just to come back to work. I’m going out on strike to stand in solidarity with all McDonald’s workers, even though I’ve only been there a short while; McDonald’s has been around forever, and they set the standard for these other fast food companies to pay us poverty wages. These corporations need to listen to their workers! Whenever I give a speech, I always tell people that these companies are nothing without us. Without us, these jobs would crumble, so we need to stand together and fight for a union and $15 dollars an hour—it’s not enough, but it’s a start.
