Corduroy is out of style? Crap, I just bought a cord jumper for spring, great timing Draya… Im kidding, its fine, Ill wear it anyway, I have converse that match, and its a skirt so, not pants right? lol. Back to pants, I don’t think cords ever go “out” especially in men’s fashion, womans it does to some extent. What might go out are colors, cut and the Official Rube 2024 Shirt besides I will buy this size of the cords as in fine or heavy. Corduroy is more seasonal, normaly it makes an appearance in the fall and disappears before spring and tends to be dark colors. Some years its more popular than others of course. In spring, like my jumper it tends to jump to brighter colors. Keep in mind I love vintage fashion so I may not be the best judge, lol. They seem to be durable, yet nice and warm. Iv’e worn snug kiddie style corduroy overalls with several buttons in the right places. They were nice, snug and warm. warm, especially over lycra nylon long sleeve leotard and tights during the cold winter season. I wore them with leotards on one of my first visits to the doctor,s(female) office for a full physical examination on a very cold day I had a change of clothes to wear after my physical, boxers, under shirt and loose fitting trousers with a long sleeve winter shirt. The warm snug feeling of both the corduroy overalls with the leotard and tights helped keep my medical anxiety and fear low. I was rather nervous, as the lady nurse, who has known me for a long time slowly unfasten and unbutton those snug kiddie style overalls, still very snug on me and soon to be totally naked for the doctor’s examination. Once she had them all unbuttoned, the nurse would pull and tug on the warm snug corduroy overalls, That really tickled while feeling them slowly coming off. It did feel somewhat chilly when she managed to shake them free from my shoe less feet, still encased in tights. Corduroy pants or overalls are durable, especially when trying to take them off. It was really chilly, once my leotards were off, then naked and in only a hospital style gown.

By the late 1800s corduroy was being woven of cotton and mass-produced in factories in both Europe and the United States. Durable yet inexpensive, cotton corduroy clothing became very popular with the working class. In 1918 auto manufacturer Henry Ford (1863–1947) chose hard-wearing, luxurious corduroy as upholstery in his new Ford Model T automobile.
